
The Inaugural FILMKITA Short Film Festival 2015 Announced!
KUALA LUMPUR, 3rd December 2014 - FILMKITA is pleased to announce the FILMKITA Short Film Festival 2015, dedicated for young aspiring film makers who are looking for new opportunities to market their short films, be recognised and gain more exposure. With a mission to bring the local film industry to the next level, FILMKITA Short Film Festival 2015 invites young talented Malaysians aged 16-30 years old, regardless of professional qualifications and background, to submit their entries. This festival has no restriction on genres or themes, and encourages filmmakers to experiment with new concepts, and to not set boundaries on themselves.
FILMKITA Short Film Festival 2015 is set to be held on in 7-9 June 2015 at KL Live, Life Centre for three days including film screenings and award ceremony and will feature various categories namely; Best Short Films, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Story, Best Film Director and Most Promising Film Director. For this inaugural edition, all short films will be competing with each other as the short films will not be categorised into genres. Submissions will be judged by a panel of jurors comprised of Amir Muhammad, James Lee, Bront Palarae, Afdlin Shauki and Nik Amir Mustapha. Short films submissions will open on 15th January 2015 and is expected to close by 22nd March 2015.
