FILMKITA is pleased to announce the FILMKITA Short Film Festival 2015, dedicated for young aspiring film makers who are looking for new opportunities to market their short films, be recognised and gain more exposure. With a mission to bring the local film industry to the next level, FILMKITA Short Film Festival invites young talented Malaysians aged 16-30 years old, regardless of professional qualifications and background, to submit their entries. Originally hails from Sungai Buloh, a sub-district in the state of Selangor, Mathana Mohan is best known for his latest short film project, "Carlina" which received over 7,340 views on YouTube, as of 25th October 2014. The same short film was also ranked #68 in the Most Viral 100 Malaysian Short Films Year 2014 by FlashMag, a local magazine targeted for film fans, in October. MCAT Box Office (MBO) has agreed to screen the best 20 short films submitted to FILMKITA in between movie trailers during movies show times for a period of one month in 2015. The exact month has yet to be decided.
